Music for Film and Games

Music written and produced by Hedrick for various film, television, and video game projects.

The Sounds of Mirage (From Assassin’s Creed)

An album of traditional Arabic music written for the latest installment of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Hedrick wrote, produced, and performed traditional Arabic music alongside composer Nima Fakhrara. Primarily a guitarist, Hedrick put himself through a crash-course of traditional Middle Eastern music and taught himself to play the Oud, a fretless, 11-stringed instrument.

Skeletonwitch

Hedrick is a founding member of the blackened thrash metal band, which formed in 2003. They have released six studio albums, including 2007’s cult favorite ‘Beyond the Permafrost’, and they have toured with Danzig, Kvelertak, Amon Amarth and many more. Their latest record, ‘Devouring Radiant Light,’ was the first in which Hedrick took the lead on songwriting and creative direction, and “for the first time in their decade-plus career, nuance is just as important as nastiness, and it pays off in spades,” said Pitchfork in a review.

Dead Neanderthals

A Dutch free jazz duo - Otto Kokke and Rene Aquarius - that incorporates elements of metal and grindcore, Dead Neanderthals tapped Hedrick to join them on a collaboration that became the 2019 album ‘Ghosts’. Invisible Oranges described the record as “doomy drone that sees Kokke’s bleating sax commingle with Hedrick’s soaring, wailing guitar; all the while Aquarius ties the cacophonous clatter together with a monotonous, trance-like intensity.”
